Tyler has been bugging us since before we moved to take the training wheels off of his bike. I thought he was too young. He is only 5!!!! He kept pestering us so finally this past weekend we went to the park and let him go for it. He had full skating gear on. :) I thought it would be best to start on the grass cause that is how I learned and I wasn't prepared to make a trip to the ER. So, Tyler learned how to ride his bike in a Baseball diamond.
This is a few of the pics of Ryan trying to show Tyler how to do it. Actually, Ryan was just goofing around. :)

Tyler is so independent. This is just one more step toward independence for him!!!

Tyler had many helpers at the park (Dad, Mom, Grandma). However, Ryan by far did most of the work of helping Tyler learn to ride a bike. We just filled in when Ryan was too tired to go anymore. :)

He had a few crashes but he kept getting up and asking if he could go one more time. We were really proud of him. By the end of the teaching session, Tyler was riding around like it was no big deal. He still needs to work a little bit on the kick off and finish.

Chase chased his brother everywhere he could on foot. I think he was having a hard time with Tyler getting all of the attention.

Whooho...Congrats to Tyler, what a fun weekend for Tyler and Chase, exhausting for the rest of you. Ryan learned to ride at 5 when he got his first bike for his birthday. In Logan's world training wheels were not allowed, so when he got home from work he would get to run and run along side Ryan till he got it, which didn't take too long.
Okay, we need to have him hang around Halli. We've been trying to get her to ride without training wheels all summer. She try's a little but always gives up. Maybe we should try on grass too, and it won't be as scary. What a big boy, thats exciting that he can ride on his own!
It was so much fun for grandma to watch Tyler ride his bike. He picked it up soooooooooo fast and he just kept on getting up and riding again and again - He was like the Energizer Bunny - he tired us all out and wanted to "keep on riding" -
I loved the pics of Ryan on the bike as well - how that long frame fit on that small bike is beyond me :) and the pic of Chase running was way cute as well. Great pics of a great adventure.
I loved the head shot of Tyler, too. He looks so excited to be able to ride his bike without "training wheels." What an accomplishment, Tyler! Way to go! High 5s all around!
Can your kids get any cuter? It hurts that they are so cute! I loved how excited Tyler was when he was riding around. He had a perma-grin the whole time... even when he hit the pavement! The only time it disappeared was when he had to leave! He's getting TOO big, you have to put the kabosh on that!
Way to go Tyler!!!
Who's that super tall, skinny Jennifer Connelly look-alike mom??
