Sydney managed to get out of the yard on Thursday night. I was at a book club meeting, so Ryan headed out with the boys, in search of our missing dog. I got back at 9:30pm and Ryan was still out searching. I really couldn't believe that she was still not back home. I asked Ryan if he wanted me to head out too. He said, "he was on his way back and thought she had probably been put in some neighbors backyard and if not she would probably head for home in the morning on her own, when she got hungry." Friday, I headed out with the boys to post signs all of over the neighborhood and look for Sydney. My Dad set out on his bike to cover any areas we couldn't go in the Pilot. No luck. When we got done with searching, I tried calling the pound. I kept getting an answering machine. So FRUSTRATING!!!!! So, I decided to head to the pound hoping that maybe someone had done the right thing and taken her there and not just kept her for their own. We arrived at the pound and they took us for a tour to see the animals and see if Sydney was there. She wasn't. The boys were very disappointed. :( The dog pound worker said that maybe she could be up for adoption because sometimes the people that bring the dog in say that it was theirs. hmmm. nice. She asked me to describe Sydney, then another worker opened a door to a room they called intake and she asked him if he had seen any dogs matching Sydney's description. He pointed at the cage in the room behind the door that was blocking our view and sure enough it was SYDNEY!!!!! She had just arrived at the pound.
We were so lucky!!!! They said they would wave all of the fees if I decided to have Sydney fixed. So, I decided now was as good a time as any to get it done. :) The total bill came to $106($90 for the spay, $10 for license, and $6 for rabies shot).
Sydney was ready for pick up this evening. She is super sore and a little out of it but she is HOME!!! The boys were really HAPPY and we are glad to have her back too!!!!

Oh my gosh she's darling!!!!! I'm so glad you found your beautiful pup.
I'm so glad you were able to find here, that really is so lucky! I feel for the boys, it's so sad to lose you're pet when you're little. Glad she's home and healthy, even if she's a littl sore too.
How scary. But so glad she is now home and OK. does she have a tag at all?
Glad you found her. I remember trying to find animals and all they while wondering why? Yea, we do it for the kids.
When our horse and her colt took off I was late for work, then I put out calls to my friends who found her fenced in someone's corral. Sold her from there, that was more than I could take.
Brittany - she is microchiped. She had a tag but it was lost not too long ago. We replaced it this weekend. :)
You poor thing, that is so stressful. I can't believe about the cost to spay. Izzie has been in heat for the last three weeks and its disgusting so we're definately getting her fixed but when I tried to find out the cost it was going to come to $250. I will definately have to keep looking. I'm glad you found her though.
That's an AMAZING story! I was waiting for a sad ending and was so happy it wasn't.
So glad you found her! She is such an adorable dog... if she weren't so big I would steal her from you!
