I don't know why but I haven't been able to find the time to blog about the wonderful and relaxing trip Ryan and I took to Palm Springs. We both were extremely stressed out with everything going on in our lives and it was the perfect getaway. I have always felt that a vacation requires leaving the country. We usually head to Mexico. However, I realized it is less stressful not having to board a plane, worry whether or not it is safe to drink the water (to later realize it was definitely not), and speaking a foreign language, although I do enjoy the practice. My spanish is definitely getting a little rusty.
Anyways, I didn't have my camera with me. Ryan forbid it. :) I guess, he thought all I would want to do is take pics, I have no idea why. So, I took all these pictures with my Blackberry.
This is the only picture we took of the two of us. Not a great shot but it is good enough for documentation purposes anyway. :)
The hotel was gorgeous. And Ryan, I am sure, grew tired, of me repeatedly saying I wish I had brought my camera. :) I really loved this fountain. One of the days during our stay, I saw a thomas the tank engine strategically placed on the third tier by a child. I never saw the child place the engine, but I am sure it was meant to stay right there. It made me chuckle and smile because it reminded me so of my two little boys. I was hoping it would still be there when we took this pic, so I could document it.
Spending time at the pool was the highlight for me. I loved this pool. They called it the tranquility pool. I spent many hours in and out of the pool, probably the majority of the trip. There is something so relaxing about floating on a raft soaking in the sun. I adore it. I got to read stupid, yet entertaining, magazines like OK and People etc. And I even started a book, which I haven't had time to do in a long while. I actually felt relaxed and less stressed by the end of trip too. :) I will definitely have fond memories of Palm Springs, even if we don't golf, and it was insanely hot. :)

Oh, that sounds heavenly. You deserved it!
Everyone deserves a relaxing vacation every now and then. I'm glad yours turned out great despite the heat! Hopefully that stressless feeling will last for a little while.
Glad you had a great trip. From my memories of Palm Spring, it was miserable and Hot and I was babysitting some twins. Your trip seems much more fun.
Too much fun!! I think that's soo funny you still had a blackberry to take pics on! I'm glad you did though, so we could see it. Sounds like you guys had a super fun time. Makes me want to go to granny land too someday.
Kate, the pics are great even with a Blackberry! It really looked enjoyable and relaxing. Thanks for coming back though to surprise me for my birthday! The hotel is beautiful, but I think my favorite is the b&w of the fountain and Ryan. The pic of the swimming pool looks like a pic for an advertisement for the hotel! Very nice!
Did you have a blonde swim cap on? Nice get-a-way. Hey, great photos from the blackberry.
xana - hahaha. no, i was the one taking the picture. That is just some random lady. :) I don't think I would be able to post a picture of myself in a swimsuit. Not yet anyway. Maybe, my trainer will be able to help me with that though. :)
