1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

So do you remeber that time when we were married. That was so awesome. uhhhh... I mean it is still so awesome.
Okay, seriously, I am going to start this with a disclaimer. Because no matter which event I write down, It will most likely not be the event YOU think I should remeber the most. So knowing that going into this I am now prepared to live in the doghouse for much of the near future and at every subsequent party/gathering/reunion when the women gather and compare the inconsiderate pigs the rest of the world knows only as their "Husbands."
Here goes.....
I know this is probably only an example of what a bad influence I am on Kate, but I remember when we were dating/engaged, I would take Kate to her CPA Study course. The first few times I took her, she would actually make it to class. However, the more serious we got (and probably the more boring her class got) we would tend to pull up in front of the building and then just drive off together. We'd go "park" somewhere (don't worry nothing bad - well, really bad - happened) and just "talk" or listen to music, and just hang out. I think after a few of these eppisodes I made her a CD (this was in the ancient of days when burning CD's was relatively new). If I remember right I even took her to a park late in the evening and danced with her next to the car while the music played.
Well, hopefully that will suffice. Keep in mind I could fill google's entire database with fun filled memories, however due to megabite limitations, time limitations and my overall desire to see what the rest of you have to write. I will end this ....now!
Okay, so I went a little early and posted my memory of Kate on her earlier post...you'll have to go there to read it!
I am horrible at remembering things. The older I get the more I can blame it on my age, but really I've always been a little forgetful, so, I've been digging deep into the recesses of my mind (for phrases like that) and I come up with blends of a lot of memories all into one...like driving to and from Redding to Provo. It was awesome to have someone to go back and for with. Since I wasn't a driver, and I didn't have a car it was always a win-win for me, but I remember this one time, it was really warm and we driving in the cool, but fairly beat up Beamer. The speakers were on the fritz or the face plate on the stereo was stolen or something, so we were listening to cd's or even tapes (wow we're old) on a boom box (dated myself again). We worked so hard to keep it steady, setting it on blankets, and I still road with my hand on it, to try and maintain the sound quality. There was a lot of traffic you know, through Nevada, I know, but there was, there was a TON of construction, and I remember blasting out some Shanaia Twain, "Any Man of Mine," with all the windows and the sun roof open. We weren't moving, but we were still having fun. Or listening to Jeff Foxworthy's "You Might be a Redneck..." and laughing and making up our own redneck one liners.
It was really a blast being in college together, well you were going and I was pretending :-) but anyway you get the drift.
I know I usually say that I was always bringing over cakes and things to make you fat, but I would walk the campus, so I would get skinny AND you'd get fat, j/k I would walk over to your apartment 'cause I loved making homemade pizza, watching Absolutely Fabulous with you and Chelsea and laughing our heads off at stupid stuff.
We gotta take some road trips together again. That was fun. We'll ditch your kids and your husband and just drive. Sound good?
Here is a good memory:
For the blessing of your youngest, you served a wonderfully tastey chessey casserole afterwards! I gobbled it down fast!
You and Ryan have always been so kind and real friendly. Thank you.
Eric's Memory of Ryan:
I was five and you decided to pick on me but I being the brilliant brother that I was always found ways to get out of it...like calling mom. Or when we would wrestle and I would get you in a head lock until you gave up or when you would hit me and it wouldn't hurt me at all but it would hurt your hand, and I remember when you said that you did all that to get out of trouble. That was a disappointing day.
Jill's Memory of Ryan:
It was one of the first times that I had met you so I was still probably more shy than now but I remember that you made a joke about me and it caught me so off guard. I was always the older one in my family and I was not sure how to handle the new idea that since Eric gets picked on I would too. It really caught me off guard. No idea what I was getting myself into with a big brother.
Eric's Memory of Kate:
I remember when you taught Tyler to call Ryan "Giraffe" and giraffe's "Ryan". It was pretty clever and kept me laughing for awhile.
Jill's Memory of Kate:
I think my favorite memory of you was when you came to my office and I helped you get those sunglasses. You are just so smart about so many things that it was fun that I actually knew more about something than you did. Now everytime I see pictures of you in the sunglasses I smile cause I helped pick them out.
I remember going shopping with you before my mission. It was so nice to have a nother sister to spend time with, and the fact that you could shop forever with me made it even batter!!!
So you make me scan my brain and frankly it's fried, but here's what I remember. Do you remember that time when you were married?
It was raining, the photographer was and idiot and took to long and your parents had to head to Sacramento to get ready for your reception. When the photographer finally finished, the temple was closed, your parents had left and worst of all your mom had your locker key.
Logan convinced security to let him into the women's dressing room, but he couldn't get your locker open.
Ryan gave you his coat (it was December) and you two took off for the reception, leaving your clothes and personal items behind. Your honeymoon consisted of returning to the Temple to get your belongings.
Even with that hiccup in the wedding events, it was a georgous wedding.
I believe this picture was taken on Halloween Day, October 31, 1982 and that would make you five years old. It is one of my Halloween costume favorites and the face is priceless! Your dad wanted you to smile for the camera, but you weren’t happy about something so instead of a smile he got a pout. Even with the pout, I can see how Tyler and Chase are soooooooooooooo cute!
This little excerpt came from my journal around that same time and could probably go in the Quotable Kids category:
“We have been telling you at home that some shows on TV aren’t good for little ones to watch. One of those is MASH. One night when the babysitter came over to watch you, I heard you remark. “My mommy won’t let us watch SMASH!”
Another memory I have of you, Kate, is how competitive you have always been. You were not only one of the best swimmers on the Blue Marlin Swim Team, but you also got an award for holding your breath and swimming under water several lengths of the pool before coming up for air!
P.S. as I was adding this to your blog, the song “Love Song” came on and these where the words I heard – thought that was pretty unique!
Head under water,
And they tell me to breathe easy for a while.
The breathing gets harder, even I know that.
I remember when I was younger I loved to watch my sister play basketball. My very studious sister as well new how to have fun. I saw her get ready for prom and how excited she was to get older. I've always appreciated the way she would let me be a part of something big in her life eventhough I knew I was a little too excited at times.
Darling picture.
Kate, I remember the time I stayed with you at your house when we were like 13 or so and I woke up in the morning to see you standing near your closet dancing to Pretty Woman while you picked out your clothes. I remember thinking you were pretty cool and that I wanted to be you....even though you were a stinker. :)
So, I got to know you and Ryan at a time when most other close friends/family weren't around -- right after you got married and moved to Berkeley. I distinctly remember your tiny apartment with the bedroom nearly as big as the living room, bathroom, and kitchen combined. I remember you complaining about the obnoxious, loud neighbors -- especially when one had a party and the police came or something like that, probably multiple times. I remember when you realized that you lived only a few blocks from a soup kitchen and that freaked you out. I remember how I always wanted to stay late at work because I made overtime, but you always wanted to go home early because you didn't make overtime and Ryan was waiting for you; now, I can sympathize with that feeling. You would consent to come with me to the McArthur Bart Station, while I lived in Oakland, and let me drive you up to Berkeley, just so that I wouldn't be mugged as I walked to my car alone on a late, dark night. Remember when my car wouldn't start and Ryan had to come save us and bring me home? That's when I moved! I remember doing Cindy Crawford workouts with you in your living room. I remember going with you to the Cheesecake Factory at the top of Macy's in Union Square for the first time; we got lettuce wraps and they were yummy. Shortly thereafter, you got your haircut on Maiden Lane. Then, we had to go down to Telegraph to the beauty supply store and find you the blow dryer and brush that the hairdresser recommended. I remember going with you, Ryan, and Steve into the City to virtual bowling at the Metreon. Then, we got cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and ate it back at your place while watching "O Brother, Where art Thou?" I remember you and Ryan coming to my mission farewell. And, then, you two graciously allowing me and my girlfriends to crash at your place for the night -- on the futon and on the floor. Oh, there are a few more memories there, but that will suffice. I learned a lot from watching you two in your early stages of marriage. And, I am very grateful for the friendship that we developed at such a crucial stage in both of our lives. Thanks for the memories Kate!
#1 My sophomore year of high school was fun, because I got to be the annoying little brother that hitched a ride with his sister to school. “STEVE HURRY UP YOU’RE GOING TO MAKE US LATE TO SEMINARY!!!!! MOOOOOOMMMMM, STEVE IS GOING SLOW ON PURPOSE!!!!” sound familiar? Once we got in the car it was alright though listening to Steve Miller, and Def Leopard every morning to wake us up just enough to make it through seminary.
#2 Remember when it was cool to cruise around Redding downtown? Yeah, well I remember one particular time, You, me Laina and Josh were all in the car. Josh and I were in the back seat. I guess you 2 girls never intended on meeting anyone, because you brought Josh and me in the car, well at least on the times you invited us. Whenever some dude would get close, and start chasing us, you’d tell us to duck and start peeling out.
#3 Remember when we both competed in the after season trials for backstroke my freshman year and your junior year? I think you made the time trial, but I just missed it .
#4 My sophomore year I remember playing in a basketball game, for my like 2 mins, and for whatever reason the girls varsity team all walked onto the court. Right as you walked in with them one of my team members passed me the ball on the baseline and I drained a 10ft shot, and I heard you say “WHOOOOOHOOOO, GO STEPHEN”. It was pretty cool.
Thanks for sharing all of the memories everyone!!!!!
One memory I have of you is doing your hair for your wedding. It was so much fun to talk to you and hear all about how excited you were.
I have always looked up to you Kate and I remember when I would visit in the summer when I was younger I just wanted to follow you everywhere!
All my memories of our MTC experience are a little mooshed together in my head. I have so many I don't know which one to share!
Here is one-Remember how during our exercise time you would go down and play basketball with all of the Elders and you would generally kick there trash! I thought you were such a stud. It was so funny to look down at you and see the only girl trashing all of the cocky elders!
Here is a general one: I just remember there being a lot of drama at times between the 3 of us but, we also laughed A LOT! We had so much fun. You have the greatest laugh! Whenever I see these pictures of you I am reminded of that awesome laugh!
Okay here is one you probably don't want to remember: I just remember a certain hot teacher we had (way too hot to be teaching in the MTC) that made it a little hard for your to concentrated during class. :)
Good times and good memories. I could go on and on. Do you hear from anybody? I wonder what happened to some of those guys?
Well we should write a book of all of our MTC memories and share them!
Good for a few laughs I am sure!
